The Art of Gathering Environmental Data #1- Open Call

The Finnish Society of Bioart, together with Pixelache, is organizing
an unconference during Camp Pixelache 12.5.2012 with plenary speaker and 
facilitator Jennifer Gabrys, Goldsmiths University, London.

The days theme "The Art of Gathering environmental Data" at Camp
Pixelache 2012, covers ecosystem theory, environmental monitoring,
related art&science projects and citizen/ participatory science, in the
context of open data. One key question is: How can we support and
develop the activities that are already going on in institutions at a
more grassroot level like “producing reliable citizen science data” ?

Under the umbrella The Art of Gathering Environmental Data the Finnish
Society of Bioart, together with Pixelache, is organising a series of
events concerned with collecting, publishing and using environmental
data in art&science practice:

#2 13.5.2012  'The Art of Gathering Environmental Data' – brunch,
12-15h, TBA

#3 5-7.6.2012  'The Art of Gathering Environmental Data' – best practice
workshop at the Think Corner of the University of Helsinki with artists,
activists and scientists.

#4 TBA October 2012 'The Art of Gathering Environmental Data' – hands on
workshop at the Aalto Media Factory with Marko Peljhan and Matthew
Biederman from the Arctic Perspective Initiative
